Our Cutthroats Youth Hockey Program provides programming for Teton Valley youth from ages 4 – 19. Our program has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for serious competition, to better your skaters’ skill level, or a friendly winter activity. We are a USA Hockey affiliate, with dedicated coaches who develop skaters using the ADM model.

Program Info
All of our tournaments at this time are categorized as Recreational B Division EXCEPT for the HIGH SCHOOL 26/27 season, which will have a Varsity & JV division.  Coaches – We ask that you use proper discretion when rostering your players to ensure that they are playing at the correct level of play. We would like to maintain the integrity of our B level tournament so that it’s fun and challenging for all of our teams.
 
One week prior to your tournament you can expect the final schedule for the tournament, tournament rules, as well as a restaurant guide for your stay while here in Teton Valley. The restaurant guide is interactive and you can click on the logos to go to their website for more information.
Please send us links to your 1T rosters as soon as you have them in email format and please remember to bring your team roster stickers. The Sanction number for the tournaments will be posted on our website registration pages as soon as we receive them.
A little overview of our rink (Kotler Ice Arena) We want to make sure everyone is best prepared for our rink climate especially if you have never played here before.
Locker Rooms
Locker rooms will be assigned before the tournament, with one dedicated to girls only. Please plan on removing your equipment after every game unless otherwise noted the weekend of the tournament. Following USA hockey guidelines, please make sure to arrive with time to allow both boys and girls to use your locker room safely at independent times (if needed) and plan on having a locker room attendant available to assist. 
 
Penalty Box volunteer attendant required. Please plan to have a parent volunteer to serve as your team’s penalty box attendant for all your scheduled games. 
Shop Purchases
The ice rink shop will have sock tape, stick tape, and skate sharpening available, but it’s recommended that you come prepared before the tournament. Please give the shop team at least 4 hours to sharpen your skates before they’re needed. 
 
All games will be played at Kotler Arena located at 380 S Agate Ave, Victor ID 83455. There is no admission fee for spectators. We are an outdoor facility which, at times, can be very cold. Please plan accordingly. We have a very small warming hut with very limited viewing access to ice. We have several large propane heaters rink side that will be running throughout the tournament. Spectators are welcome to bring their own buddy heaters inside and outside the viewing area of the rink. Coaches, you are also welcome to bring a buddy heater on your bench during game time. The rink sells hand warmers for anyone needing them. There will also be a concession stand set up at the rink with warm beverages and food for purchase.
***Please do NOT throw used propane tanks in the garbage, instead place them outside the front of the rink in the marked crate for your used propane tanks***

For Parents

Volunteer Requirement

To ensure the continued success of our nonprofit Youth Hockey program, all parents are
required to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours for each skater. For Mini-mite skaters (aged 6 and
under), the requirement is 5 hours. There are numerous volunteer opportunities available
throughout the hockey season, including coaching, tournament support, fundraising, and
serving as a team manager.

For families with multiple children registered with the Cutthroats, the volunteer deposit will be
capped at $300. However, each child still requires a commitment of 10 volunteer hours, and we
will track all hours accordingly.

A $300 deposit must be paid upfront to guarantee your commitment before your child
steps onto the ice. At the end of the season, when the required volunteer hours are completed
and reported, you will receive a refund in the form of a check, a credit on your account, or you
can choose to donate it to the TVF Youth Hockey program.

Be aware that if you fail to complete and report the volunteer hours by the end of the
season, the deposit will be donated to the Cutthroats Youth Hockey program. We are utilizing
the VolunteerLocal app this year to ensure accurate documentation of volunteer hours, and you
are responsible for logging your hours in real time.

You must submit a check or Venmo payment before your child’s first practice. Ruby Clift, our
new TVF Youth Hockey Assistant, will collect all checks and track Venmo payments before the
season kicks off. Stay tuned for more information from Ruby at

**EXEMPTIONS:** Please note that appointed coaches, team managers, and active members
of the Youth Hockey Advisory Committee are exempt from the volunteer deposit requirement.

Tater’s Skaters
Scholarship Fund

Program Info

The Tater’s Skaters Scholarship Program was created to help break down the financial
barriers that can make it difficult for kids to get started in hockey. Designed especially for
entry-level players and families with limited income, this scholarship provides funding for tuition
costs only and cannot be applied toward optional travel expenses such as tournaments, keeping
the focus on making hockey accessible at the local level. Scholarships will be awarded based
on financial need and eligibility criteria, with decisions made by October 1. The number of
scholarships granted each year will depend on the funds available, and no full tuition
scholarships will be awarded—a maximum of 50% tuition assistance may be granted. Families
interested in covering the remainder of their tuition are encouraged to explore our new
Cutthroats Sponsorship Incentive Program.

 We will begin accepting applications for the 2025/26 season August 1st, 2025. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is 11:59pm on October 1st, 2025.
